Manuel Rodriguez, Esq.



Manuel Rodriguez focuses on the representation of small to mid-size businesses, startups, investors and entrepreneurs. Mr. Rodriguez’s practice includes the negotiation of strategic agreements, corporate formation, corporate governance, private equity financings, intellectual property licensing, trademark law, patent strategy counseling and the resolution of business disputes.

Mr. Rodriguez holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School where he graduated with a certificate in legal advocacy. He also holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on digital circuit design from the University of Southern Maine. Additionally, he completed the coursework requirements towards a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in semiconductor processing and circuit design from the University of Colorado.

Prior to founding Rodriguez & Rodriguez Law Firm P.C., Mr. Rodriguez was an Associate at White & Lee, LLP, focusing on corporate law, corporate transactions and technology licensing. Prior to that, Mr. Rodriguez was an Associate at McDermott Will & Emery, LLP in the Intellectual Property, Media and Technology department. His clients included Creative Labs and Extreme Networks among others. Prior to that, Mr. Rodriguez was founder and principal of The Law Office of Manuel Rodriguez where he counseled emerging companies and individuals on intellectual property protection, IP portfolio management and the resolution of business law disputes.

He began his legal career as an Associate at Howrey, Simon, Arnold & White, LLP where his practice included patent litigation, intellectual property counseling and technology licensing. His clients included Intel Corporation, Extreme Networks and ASM America, among others.

Mr. Rodriguez is fully fluent in Spanish and has the ability to draft transactional documents and contractual agreements, as well as conduct negotiations in that language. He also understands the cultural differences and protocols required for conducting business ventures in Latin America.

Mr. Rodriguez’s expertise as a patent counselor, litigator and technology licensing advisor extends to matters involving semiconductor processing, network routers, internet routing protocols, internet domains, software applications, motherboard chipsets, digital chip design, portable media player interfaces, gaming machines, wireless devices and bar code scanners.

In his spare time Mr. Rodriguez enjoys traveling internationally, sailing, hiking, mountain biking and wine tasting in Napa.

Cristina Rodriguez-Rios is a founding partner of the firm. Ms. Rodriguez Rios has over ten years of experience in the areas of corporate law, finance, and international transactions.

Ms. Rodriguez Rios has a broad-based corporate practice, which includes the provision of general counsel services for clients, international transactions, corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate financing and commercial leasing, venture capital financing, antitrust compliance, telecommunications law and intellectual property licensing.

Ms. Rodriguez Rios holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School. She also holds a B.A dual degree from Bowdoin College in Economics and Political Science with a focus on international relations.

Prior to founding Rodriguez & Rodriguez Law Firm P.C., Ms. Rodriguez Rios was General Counsel of the BBG Group of Companies, including BBG Communications, Inc. in San Diego and BBG Global AG, in Switzerland and their subsidiaries and affiliates. Ms. Rodriguez Rios worked closely with the CEO of the company and senior management in all aspects of business decisions, legal risk assessment, management of the international independent contractor sales force, personnel and immigration issues, real estate, and negotiation, approval and drafting of all corporate contracts on a global basis as well as those of the subsidiaries and affiliates in the corporate group with a focus on the telecommunications industry.

Prior to becoming General Counsel of the BBG Group of Companies Ms. Rodriguez was an Associate in the Corporate Department at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP where her practice included mergers & acquisitions, finance, commercial leasing transactions, securities compliance, antitrust compliance and corporate governance.

Ms. Rodriguez is fully fluent in Spanish and has the ability to draft transactional documents and contractual agreements, as well as conduct negotiations in that language. In addition Ms. Rodriguez is fully fluent in Italian and is able to negotiate and review documentation in that language. As a multicultural and multilingual attorney she understands the nuances of conducting business in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
